Abstract: Gale correspondence provides a duality between sets of n points in projective spaces of dimension s and r when n=r+s+2. For small values of s, this duality has a remarkable geometric manifestation: the blowup of a projective space of dimension r at n points can be realized as a moduli space of vector bundles on the blowup of a projective space of dimension s at the Gale dual points. We explore this realization to describe the birational geometry of blowups of projective spaces at points in very general position.

Zero-cicli sulla superficie di Cayley-Oguiso

Abstract. La superficie S di Cayley-Oguiso è stata introdotta come quartica determinantale da Cayley in alcune memorie pubblicate dal 1869 al 1871. S è stata poi reintrodotta in altro modo da Oguiso nel 2011 come esempio di superficie K3 con un un automorfismo g privo di punti fissi e con entropia positiva. In base a una congettura - dimostrata in alcuni casi - è possibile descrivere l'azione di un automorfismo simplettico o anti-simplettico di una K3 sul gruppo di Chow degli 0-cicli. In collaborazione con Robert Laterveer dimostriamo questa congettura nel caso di S e di g anti-simplettico.

Birational geometry of symplectic varieties: smooth and singular versions

Abstract: In this talk, we will survey results on the birational geometry of symplectic varieties, that are hyperkähler manifolds in the smooth setting, and primitive symplectic varieties in the singular one. In particular, we will deal with the Kawamata-Morrison cone conjecture and the tools involved in its proof. The result in the singular setting is part of a joint work with Ch. Lehn and G. Pacienza.

Il modello di monomero-dimero su una classe di grafi random

Abstract:

Introdurrò il modello di monomero-dimero in Meccanica Statistica, per poi mostrarne la

soluzione su una classe di grafi random localmente ad albero. Sono inclusi per esempio

i grafi diluiti alla Erdos-Rényi e i grafi random regolari.

Gli ingredienti principali della dimostrazione sono l'analiticità del modello di monomero-dimero,

che deriva dal lavoro fondamentale di Heilmann e Lieb (CMP '72), insieme ad alcune

disuguaglianze di correlazione alternanti, peculiari del modello su grafi ad albero.

In this work we define the fractional order Orlicz-Sobolev spaces, and prove its convergence to the classical Orlicz-Sobolev spaces when the fractional parameter s↑1 in the spirit of the celebrated result of Bourgain-Brezis-Mironescu. We then deduce some consequences such as Γ−convergence of the modulars and convergence of solutions for some fractional versions of the Δ_g operator as the fractional parameter s↑1.

Abstract: Motivated by the geometry encoded by the embeddings of the Riemann sphere

with nonnegative normal bundles, I shall introduce the $\rho$-quaternionic manifolds.

I shall show that these exist in abundance and that, in this setting, the Ward transform

is just a manifestation of the functoriality of the correspondence between the

$\rho$-quaternionic manifolds and their twistor spaces. This can be applied, for example,

to prove that the quaternionic projective space is the only (classical) quaternionic manifold

with trivial Marchiafava-Romani class and whose twistor space is Fano. Time permitting,

I shall describe the morphisms of the category of quaternionic manifolds.

title: Dynamical degrees and entropy.

Abstract: Dynamical degrees describe the growth rate of the iterates of a meromomorphic self-maps on a compact Kahler manifold. The notion of entropy is another way to measure the complexity of a map. The two notions are deeply related. I will discuss some recent results and examples relating these two notions and equidistribution problems.

I will talk about joint work with E. Arbarello and E. Sernesi and with
E. Arbarello, G. Farkas and G. Saccà.

Which canonically embedded curves are hyperplane sections of K3
surfaces? In the first work, following conjectures of Wahl, Mukai and
Voisin, we give a complete characterization of curves which are hyperplane
sections of K3 surfaces (or of limits of such). This involves proving
two conjectures stated by Wahl in 1997.

In the second work we we find an explicit family of curves, of any
given genus, satisfying the Brill-Noether-Petri condition.
