The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DMCS) was established to replace and expand the former Mathematics Department, in 2012.
Our mission is to promote education and research in the fields of Pure and Applied Mathematics, Education and History of Mathematics, and Computer Science. We are based near the centre of Ferrara, within the city walls.

DMCS has a separate branch at Scientific-Technological Campus (STC). STC was born with the intent to promote and encourage collaboration and sharing of resources between the Departments of the Sci-Tech area.
